Hey, so my laptop died in the middle of finals week. That was not cool. That's why I haven't been online in awhile. If you need to, you can text me or get to me through here or facebook. I check these every day, but I haven't been doing much other than sleep or work. And watch The West Wing, because I can. It's a funny show, with interesting information about politics and how the federal government works, but it can get a little too preachy and obvious at times. The amount of pathetic fallacy used in that show rivals Wuthering Heights. I wish there was a show like this out now about politics and the party machines. What would be really awesome is one about nineteenth century politics though. Like Tamammy Hall or something. Not only would it have politics, but it would have violence, too, which makes everything ten times more awesome.

So what's up?

so my computer thought it would be nice to delete all of my mp3s. The loss of music makes me sad panda sad.

If anyone's willing to share some of their music with me, I would appreciate it.

The goal is 50 books and 100 movies.

I am now 9 books away from 50 and 11 movies away from 100 with three months to go. Wish me luck! Again, any suggestions are welcome.

Things have been pretty crazy over here for me. I got a cavity filled, my mom had her surgery (and is looking good right now), my dad got a cpap machine for sleep apnea so it's weird to not hear him snoring, and my abuela and two of my aunts are visiting. Everything's all crazy crazy right now.

I'm not really complaining though.

In other news: The Dark Knight was an awesome movie; I'm 15 books and a little under 30 movies away from reaching my new year's resolution and I have a ways to go until the end of the year; I need to finish my short story; I need more hours at work.

That's all.

Today, I put together a rocking chair. I now know why they're so expensive, it takes a lot of effort to put those things together what with needing a rubber mallet, a hammer, a drill, a screwdriver, screws, nails, and glue. I mean, really. Still. I put it together so yay?

I also have a futon (still) to assemble and two parson chairs. I have a lot ahead of me. Whew.

I wasn't going to post this until I saw what a fucking failure as a wife I would be.

That score makes me laugh out loud. Oddly enough, I'm ok as a husband.

So I'm back from Montana. I had a good trip. Learned some things about my family. Like apparently, I have access to a timeshare apartment on the Las Vegas Strip. I like furniture while they like jewelry. Both are sound investments in their own way.

Also, if you're interested in the medical field, you can go to the hospital in Helena, MT and walk in and they'll throw a job at you. That desperate there. So I figure if the economy tanks and I'm unable to finish going to school due to costs, I'll just walk into a hospital in Montana.

I love Cary Grant.

Everday, the world just seems a little more insane than I am. This is progress, I guess. For me at least, not the world. The world is just fucked at this point.

I made up birthday cards for all my friend's who have upcoming birthdays. Up to November, '08. I just have to send them out on time.

I've got this idea to do a series of short stories that are mysteries (murder, crime, intrigue) set in Southern Maryland with a series of tangentially related lead characters and amoral outcomes. What do you guys think? Now I just need characters, titles, and plots since the setting is set. One out of four isn't that bad. Imagine if you will: Murder at Sotterley Plantation with a woman killed during the ghost walk just as the cannon is shot off or someone's embezzling money from the Tiki just before the closing of the season or illegal drinking and drug sales at the local college lead to the death of a co-ed or a dead body is found on a Solomon Island lawn the day after the Tiki opened but they didn't die of alcohol poisoning or someone's been breaking into the government facilities down at Point Lookout or are they more interested in Point Lookout Light? These would be fabulous if I could write them. Damn writer's block. I have great ideas that go nowhere.

Hey Murbs, do you think the mouse-set read your friendslist now? I bet they do. Now they're wondering about Southern Maryland.

Ok, so apparently today nature has been out to get me. First, it's been raining all day long which is not fun when you live somewhere where the roads have a nice post-apocalyptic rundown look to them. My shoes had more water in them than was on the actual street at times. And when it wasn't raining, a goddamn fucking bird would divebomb the glass door to the porch every couple minutes. I could close the blinds, open the blinds, stand there and stare and nothing would stop this stupid bird from knocking its head against the glass.

I HATE BIRDS. THIS DID NOT HELP MY HATE.

Those who know me know what I'm talking about here. This bird thunked against the door for five hours. Ridiculous!

Other than that, my day went alright.

So. Recommend any good books? Movies? I'm all ears.

Other than that, I've done jack in the past few weeks. Jack shit.

I bought some sweatpants with the school logo on them (but not on the ass because that's tacky) and I love them.

So I've got a head cold, which sucks, but it could be much worse. I finished my final big paper for American Revolutionary History just before I got sick so I didn't have to worry about my homework suffering. None of my other classes have anything major going on this week so missing out wasn't too bad. I am a little worried since I've been completely useless in my classes all week so far (that's a lot of lecture to miss out), but I'm hoping to catch up through notes.

I've decided that I need to get out more. I need to date. Such is the life of a hermit, I guess. Every once in awhile you get bored with the same old same old.

I miss my dog.

There's something amazing about sleeping deeply. I wish I could do it more often.
